One of the most pleasant surprises during STIFF '08 was the documentary Nerdcore For Life, a film tracking the rise of geeksta rap. The film was able to provide great insight into the characters and personalities that exist in nerdcore movement.
IndieClub.com is a networking site for independent filmmakers has focused their weekly spotlight on the film. They have posted part one and part two of an interview with the co-director, Mishara Canino-Hussung.
I read recently that the first rule of blogging is that you have to actually blog. Looking back at this site, its been about a month since the last posting and it was a total ghost town the months leading up to that last post. Well, all I can say is that things are fixin' to change in a hurry. The STIFF website is going through some extensive updates for the 2009 festival, our second deadline is approaching, we are deep in planning meetings for the 2009 event and I have already seen a few really good screeners.
I've pre-written a few entries about some of the films and filmmakers from the 2008 fest that I will be posting as part of my renewed commitment to get things going for 2009 and I will be getting some help from some of those filmmakers and members of our core team. So, if you are reading this now, keep checking back. The goal is to have at least one good update per day.
