The Film Keeps On Rolling

William Saleebey, the director of Rolling which screened at STIFF in 2007, gave us an update about the theatrical release of his film. It seems the initial release has been going so well he has announced another series of screenings across the United States. The film is excellent, if you have the chance check it out. Here is a quick update about Rolling:

So far the our theatrical tour is going extremely well. We have been overwhelmed by the response to the film and are excited about our upcoming screenings all over the country. Thanks to everyone who has supported us throughout this process.

Important ROLLING announcements:

• Our first show in Denver SOLD OUT!! The theater has asked us to extend our run and we have added a show on Friday 4/24 at 10:30pm.
• SEATTLE showing JUST ADDED!! We now have a show in Seattle on 5/2 at 9pm at the Admiral Theater.
• Our LA show will has been moved to Friday 5/08 at Midnight.
• We are close to locking down dates for NYC, MIAMI and SAN DIEGO.
• The links to buy tickets to all our upcoming shows are below...LA, Atlanta and Seattle just went on sale TODAY!!!

IFP/Seattle Event: Be Gentle, It's My First Time

For all the filmmakers local to Seattle, I have an event you might be interested in. Our colleagues at IFP Seattle wanted us to know about a discussion panel about the things first time filmmakers need to know. It should be interesting and fun to veterans and novices alike, if you are in Seattle, check it out. I'm embedding the details below.

The Seattle film community produces many independent films helmed by first-time feature directors, both local and out-of-towners. And despite the huge variety in production size, budget and quality, certain problems arise again and again. We'll hear from a panel consisting of a producer, 1st AD (Megan Griffiths), cinematographer (Ben Kasulke), gaffer (Jeremy Mackie) and editor that have worked with first-time feature directors in the NW. Through their painful stories (names changed to protect the innocent!), we'll discuss the key elements we commonly see missing in multiple Seattle productions and what we can all do to improve our workflows. Whether you're a director (first time or not), producer or crew member, this discussion will be beneficial and one you won't want to miss.
